Jay Contway & Friends Art Show

Western Art and Mixed Media

March 16-18, 2017

Hilton Garden Inn, 2520 14th St SW

Visitors to the Jay Contway and Friends Art Show will experience a quiet, friendly atmosphere where exceptional artists share their stories and their art. The show is an eclectic mix of talent. Guests will find contemporary western art, jewelry, wood-working, custom leather clothing, and more. Jay Contway, Montana’s own storyteller in bronze, is your host. Jay is an Emeritus Member of the Skull Society at the C.M. Russell Museum. The Sculpture Grandfather’s Wisdom will be shown for the first time. A student scholarship will be developed from the sculpture to be used in Jay Contway's home town of Malta Montana in conjunction with the Phillips County Museum of Malta. Promotion will extend throughout the show. Admission is free.

Art, Montana history, and young people are 3 things that interest Jay. He has come up with a new idea by combining these 3 interests to benefit of his hometown community. Jay made a sculpture he calls Grandfather’s Wisdom with a casting of 100. A good portion of the profits from the sculpture will be placed in a fund at the Phillips County Historical Society. The funds will be granted to students from the High School who wish to participate in a Museum program which aids the development of the Museum. Jay is proud of the excellence with which the Phillips County Museum is operated and he knows the funds will be well spent.
